I spent most of my adult life as an architectural designer. In recent years, I wrote four books of poetry and also see poetry in the wood I carve. As a poet I have won awards in The National Poetry Anthology. Now, as an expressive poet, I derive joy from each wood sculpture. As a sculptor, I find extraordinary interest and elegance in the wood which tells a story.
I feel the Creator's hand channelled through my hands to find the grains and nuanced textures in my wood sculptures. Having minored in art at college winning numerous art competitions, I knew my soul was in sculpture where wood has such an interesting language. The discovery within each piece, walking stick or staff, gives me particular joy.
